Expander Energy Inc. Announces Appointment of new CEO, James H. Ross, B.Sc., C. Dir.
CALGARY, Sept. 7 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors for Expander Energy Inc. (Expander) announces the appointment of Mr. James H. Ross to the position of CEO effectively immediately. Mr. Ross will be assuming the role of CEO from Mr. Ron Johnston, who was tragically lost in an aviation accident August 5th, 2010. Mr. Ross held the position Vice President, Finance for Expander since October 2008. Mr. Ross brings to Expander 29 years of investment industry experience. He received a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Geography, Diploma of Business Administration.
Mr. Ross was a Senior Managing Director of Jennings Capital, a Calgary-based national investment dealer providing capital markets services to corporations, institutional investors and high net-worth individuals. Mr. Ross was an early investor in Arise Technology Corp., a Solar Cell developer and manufacturer as well an early investor and lead director (2006 - 2007) of C-Free Power Corp., a renewable energy company focused on developing clean sustainable "carbon-free" power through the development of environmentally responsible wind and water power facilities in western Canada.
Mr. Ross is the President, CEO & Founder of Dalriada Capital, a private corporation engaged in a variety of investment activities, including Private Equity, Venture Capital, Asset Backed Lending, Leasing, etc. Mr. Ross also is a member of the Board of Directors of Platinum Communications Corporation, Glenbriar Technologies Inc., Unitech Energy Resources Inc., First Metals Inc., and Cyterra Capital Corp. all of which are listed Canadian companies.
Expander Energy—is an Alberta-based Company focused on the production of "engineered synthetic fuels" from renewable, low-carbon sources. Expander is moving forward with plans to construct Canada's first biomass to synthetic diesel facility—a $156 million biorefinergy in Edmonton, Alberta. Expander will manufacture synthetic diesel from wood waste using CHOREN's (Germany) proven gasification technology—Carbo-V.® The synthetic diesel exceeds all world-wide regulatory classifications for diesel, contains zero sulphur, zero aromatics and has a cetane rating of +80.
