Le marché de l'habitation se contracte à BarrieTORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - 9 nov. 2012) - Selon l'édition de l'automne du rapport Perspectives du marché de l'habitation pour la région métropolitaine de recensement (RMR) de Barrie, publié par la Société canadienne d'hypothèques et de logement (SCHL), la demande de logements existants va faiblir pendant la dernière moitié de 2012 et le premier semestre de 2013. Les ventes vont repartir à la hausse vers la fin de 2013, mais leur total annuel restera néanmoins inférieur à celui de 2012. Sur le marché du neuf, la production d'habitations continuera d'augmenter jusqu'à la fin de l'année, puis elle s'atténuera l'an prochain. Quant aux prix, ils monteront de façon modérée en 2013, tant sur le marché du neuf que sur celui de la revente.
« L'incertitude économique et la hausse des frais de remboursement hypothécaire vont tempérer la demande de logements vers la fin de 2012 ainsi qu'au début de 2013, a déclaré Abdellah Massaoudi, analyste de marché à la SCHL pour la région de Barrie. Le marché commencera à se redresser au cours de la seconde moitié de 2013, avec l'amélioration de la conjoncture économique, le ralentissement de la montée des prix et la légère augmentation du nombre de migrants souhaitant acquérir un logement abordable. »
